We are partners in education with an area bank, Bank Midwest. We are cooperatively teaching economics to my students using the Dollars and Sense Economics Program. My banker comes to my classroom periodically throughout the year and teaches lessons that correspond with lessons I have taught in the classroom. We did a bartering lesson around Thanksgiving time. Our classroom is saving money for a field trip at the end of the year. We are making Millennium calendars to earn some money. Through this process we are learning about production, natural, capital, and human resources, paying expenses, assembly line production, costs, marketing, sales, advertising, and tracking sales.
