Previous Knowledge: To be successful with this webquest, your students need to be familiar with the jigsaw method of grouping.
The students will have two groups, one is the Home group where students will come together to share the information they have learned. The second group is the Research group, where students will be in pairs to learn and master information that they will be responsible to share with their home group.
Students will need to be able to multiply two digits by one digit to do the math section. They will also need some practice with on-line browsing and note-taking.
You, as the teacher, will be doing this webquest early in the year, so it is my sincerest hope that this webquest goes well for you. I would recommend running off the quizes, planning sheets, and evaluation for the students if they aren't experienced in this area. It also will save you on time.

Since this webquest is on Halloween, you as the teacher might want to be sure to discuss the sensitive aspects of Halloween. Remember, you aren't allowed to teach religion in school, and questions might come up as you are going along. Careful planning is the best way to deal with any issues, not avoidance. Halloween is after all really the second most popular holiday in the U.S.A., and this is history!

Be sure to decide and explain whether or not your going to have the party at the end of the Webquest. The whole point of this webquest is to plan a party, so you will need to be prepared for this. It is possible to pretend to do the party, or just do certain parts. What ever floats your boat!

Good Luck and have fun!!!
