Compose a friendly letter to a friend to summarize the main parts of the book you read. Be sure to retell the main ideas of the story. Include a sequence of events that will let your friend know about the plot of the novel.

Include all necessary parts of a friendly letter with correct capitalization and punctuation. Use correct parts of speech, spelling, and complete sentences.

1. Heading in the upper right corner (3 lines with your street address; your city, state, and zip code; and the current date.) 3 points

2. Greeting at the left margin (Dear and the person’s name followed by a comma) 2 points

3. In the body, include information about the title, author, setting, plot, and why you liked the book. 5 points

4. Closing at the right in line with the heading (informal closing that is capitalized and followed by a comma) 2 points

5. Signature written under the closing 1 point

6. Name is on all parts 1 point
