WELCOME

Bien Venidos! Welcome! Our classroom is rather unique in that we are one of only two classrooms in the Hazelwood School District that qualify to be called eMINTS classrooms. Both classrooms are at Jury Elementary School. The eMINTS philosphy of teaching is based upon the Constructivist's view, which is an inquiry based philosophy utilizing backward design. Our goal is to keep the end result in mind and to lead the child in that discovery, while all along the way building upon each discovery until that end goal is met. eMINTS also has a strong emphasis in technology. Your children will be fully technologically immersed in their 5th grade curriculum.

Ms. Barron

I have been a teacher for the Hazelwood School District since 1997 when I joined the district as a Computer Resource Specialist (CRS) at Cold Water Elementary. I taught both 1st and 5th grade before opting to take a job as one of the district's three Instructional Technology Teachers. My duties as an ITT were to take care of the academic instructional needs of eight elementary schools, one middle school and one high school. I then joined the staff of Jury Elementary School and have taught both 3rd and 5th grade. I recently became a Certified eMINTS teacher in 2007. In the 2008-2009 school year the 5th grade will be departmentalizing and I will be teaching our new Investigation's Math to all of the 5th grade.

Ms Barron has four grown-up children who are all in various stages of their professional careers, from attending college to working in their chosen professions. She is an avid Cardinals and Rams fan. Her goal in life is to educate on the importance of saving our Mother Earth.

Safety Patrol is Recycling

Recycling is one way that our Safety Patrol at Jury School connects with the community.

Our goals are to meet and surpass last year recycling accumulation. In doing so, we will not only be emphasizing the importance of recycling, but also raising money for Jury School and Safety Patrol.

So clean out those garages and gather up all those old magazines and drive them to Jury School. Keep an eye out for updates on new Recycling Paper Drive dates.

Please keep us in mind when you are throwing out those old magazines, newpapers, office paper, cereal boxes and other recycleable paper.

We can take any kind of paper except PHONE BOOKS. Thank you.
