October Happenings:

Parent Conferences:
Parent conferences are STUDENT LED. This means your child will lead you through some activities that they should be able to complete on their own. They will show you what they have learned in kindergarten so far. A form will come home in early October asking you to pick a time when you can come with just your kindergartner to participate in these activities. You will be able to choose from Thursday evening and Friday morning. Please make arrangements with your employment to get off work, or child care to watch younger siblings.

Title 1 Math Night
Make plans to attend this fun evening. There will be activities for all ages and opportunities to practice all kinds of Math.

SUPPLIES
If you cannot afford to buy all of the supplies on the list, these are the crucial ones to start the year with:
CRAYONS
GLUE
ZIPPER POUCH TO HOLD SUPPLIES
SCISSORS
BOX OF KLEENEX
BACKPACK WITHOUT WHEELS

Please be prepared to buy new crayons as the year goes on - one box NEVER lasts an entire year.

NEWSLETTERS - GO GREEN
I rarely send out newsletters. I usually send an email to parents to inform you of happenings in class. Please make sure I have a good email address that you check on a regular basis. I am more likely to update this page than write a newsletter and waste paper.

I encourage all parents to access their child’s grades on the internet on a regular basis.

Free advice:
People do not always remember what was said exactly, but they do remember the feeling they had when someone spoke to them.
Be careful how you speak to children - it is many times more important than what is said.
