Facts about your teacher.....

   Rolla has always been a part of my home.  I was born here in 1971 at the Phelps County Hospital.  I joined two other brothers and two sisters.  I am the youngest in my family.  I grew up in Maries County and attended grade school and high school in Vienna, Missouri, where I later taught.  After high school, I attended college at the University of Missouri Rolla, where I started in engineering, but quickly changed to education.  Due to the restricted classes offered at UMR for education majors, I had to finish my bachelors degree at the University of Missouri Columbia.  I graduated from UMC in 1993. 

   I met and married my wife, Julie, in 1995.  She and I met at Vienna, where we were both teaching.  We lived in Argyle, Missouri,  for a number of years and then in 2001, we moved to Rolla.  We absolutely love living in Rolla.  The people here are so great and caring and helpful.  We are just so blessed with the people we have befriended and the people we work with are just all so great! 

  We have one child, a son.  He is a wonderful child and he is so fun to be around.  We can't wait to see where he is headed in his life!

   I moved to Mark Twain Elementary in 1999, where I started teaching third grade and continue to do that today.  Mark Twain Elementary is a unique and wonderful elementary school with a friendly group of teachers who work together and help one another.  I love it at Mark Twain!

   Some of my hobbies include selling/buying on Ebay, gardening (I am currently a Master Gardener through the University of Missouri Extension Program), antiquing, traveling, garage saling, looking up my family history (genealogy), and working around my house.  It is a great thing to have a hobby and have a stress reliever in your life.
