MRS. SCHEER

My full name is Wendi Diane Scheer. I grew up right down the road in Columbia, Missouri. I attended Rock Bridge High School where I graduated in 1995. I took a few years off from my education to try adventurous things such as snow boarding in Colorado. I decided the life of a nomad was not for me and I returned to Missouri where I pursued my degree in Elementary Education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I lived in Kansas City for four years while attending school there. As soon as I was finished with school I returned to Mid-Missouri.

I married my husband, Brent in August of 2003 and finally finished my degree in May 2004. I immediately accepted a job at Sturgeon R-V Schools in Sturgeon, Missouri where I taught one year of 4th grade eMints and then went on to teach two years of 5th grade eMints. I finished the two years of required training to become eMints certified right before I took the job here at Southern Boone. This is my second year teaching fifth grade in Ashland. I feel blessed everyday to be working with such wonderful students and parents. This really is an excellent community to be a part of!

A little about my personal life: I live with my husband Brent, our daughter Lainie, who was born last December, and my cat Calvin. In my free time I love to be with my family. I come from a very large family. I have four sisters and three brothers, so I am never alone if I don't want to be. I enjoy reading and scrap booking Lainie whenever I have a free moment, which isn't very often!!

In the spring my husband and I have a passion for mushroom hunting and hiking the trails, sometimes we take our bikes out, but since we had our daughter that has been a while. In the summer we spend a lot of time at the Lake with family and friends. My favorite summer pastime is to vacation anywhere with a rich history. I enjoy the history of our great nation and I cannot get enough information on our past. I enjoy historical tours and all the little factoids that come along with them.

We recently purchased land here in Ashland and we cannot wait to build our dream home. We would like to have one more baby in the next few years, we feel that would make our family complete. I look forward to all the children that I will meet as my journey here at SoBoCo R-I continues.
