SPECIAL ACTIVITIES

MRS. LEVERY

     none

My students are always curious about my life outside of school.  Although I love teaching, I do enjoy other activities as well!  I love to cook, and one of my favorite things is to find an interesting recipe and try it out. I love cheese and seafood, but not necessarily together!

When the weather is nice and I have the time, I like to go bike riding on the Katy Trail.  Otherwise you just might see me riding here around Ashland.  On cold winter days, I like to snuggle up with a book with my big white cat, Stretchy, curled up next to me.

I played the piano when I was in elementary and middle school and I still enjoy playing. I don't have a piano right now, but we'll be getting one soon.  I love to play volleyball, but recent injuries have kept me from it.  It would be nice to find a team so I can play again.

Another great thing I enjoy doing is going to the Fox Theater in St. Louis with my 6th grade daughter, Rachel. We have seen The Lion King and Peter Pan, but our favorite by far was Cats.  I really enjoy watching her dance in her performances with Dancer's Alley.

My husband, Chris, and I like to go down to the Ozarks.  We enjoy hiking around and seeing the beautiful sights of nature.  Then, after we’re all hot and sweaty, we find a clear stream to cool off in.  Then we find a nice quiet restaurant with an outdoor eating area.

I like to travel, and I've been to a lot of places.  I have visited all the states on the east coast and along the Gulf of Mexico, and just last year I was out in Colorado and Utah.  I have been overseas to many countries in Europe, and I even lived in Germany for 5 years!  But the most exotic place I went was when my grandmother took me to Africa!

I go to Pennsylvania a couple times a year to visit my family. My parents live just outside of Phildelphia near my two brothers. I like to go downtown to see the historical sites like Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell.

For those of you interested in my teaching career, I received my degree from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. I taught one year of 5th and 6th grade math and science and then moved to Missouri in 1995. I received my Masters in Education through Central Methodist University and completed the 2 year training for eMINTS. I taught 4th grade in California, Missouri for 12 years before moving to Ashland. This is my second year teaching 5th grade in Ashland.
