    Follow each of the steps in the order they are listed.  You will be responsible for bringing your own information about yourself from home. Next you will find world events on the websites that are listed to do your research.  During this process you will be working with a partner and each will serve as editor for the other to improve your writing for clarity and errors.  Upon completion, your partner will use the scoring guide to score your Power Point presentation and your "Penny Book." 

1. We will read the books "The Hundred Penny Box"  and "On the Day You Were Born."

2. You will bring the following information from home
       -Birth date  -Place of birth   -Birth weight and length   -Complete name
       -Grandparents' names 

2A.  You will use the previous information to make pages in your book.  You will have a page for each year of your life.  You will use the interview page to interview your parents and the grandparents' interview page to interview your grandparents. Be sure to include any fun activities, a vacation, a trip, a funny story, or anything about you and your parents and grandparents. Bring pictures of your summer fishing trips, your swimming lessons, and/or anything that you would like to include in your book.

3. You will bring a penny from home for each year of your life beginning with the year of your birth. You will put this penny on each page representing each year of your life.

4. Choose at least one important world event that occurred during each year of your life beginning with your birth date.

5. Find out how many days old you are.

6. Find out what day of the week on which you were born then read the poem to find out if the characteristics fit you. You may include the poem or your line of the poem in your autobiography.

  Create a Power Point slide show to depict or show the special events in your life, the special people in your life and special places you have visited or gone. Do not use more than ten slides and keep the sound effects to a minimum. You may bring pictures from home to scan into the slide show.
